WALDORF, Md. - Trinity Memorials Gardens has been named the 2012 first place recipient of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) prestigious KIP (Keeping It Personal) Award in Best Practices.
The ICCFA created the KIP to recognize outstanding examples of personalization of services or products in the death-care profession. Nominees were judged on outstanding achievement in the following categories, Most Personalized Service or Memorial, Events, and Best Practices The KIP awards are judged by communication and marketing professionals from outside the cemetery and funeral service profession.
"It is such an honor to receive the KIP award and to be recognized for our groundbreaking work with Sadie, our bereavement therapy dog," said Trinity Memorial Gardens director Gail Manual. "Every year we look for new ways to involve the community and the families of Trinity Memorial Gardens in events of remembrance, support and community outreach."
2012 saw many new initiatives by the team at Trinity Memorial Gardens and Friendship Pet Memorial Park. The biggest announcement was the addition of Sadie, a bereavement therapy dog who serves as a grief counselor to clients coping with the emotions involved with the loss of a loved one. In October of 2012, Sadie completed her journey and final requirements to become one of only a few fully certified bereavement therapy dogs in the nation. Sadie keeps regular hours at Trinity Memorial Gardens, attends Trinity sponsored events, participates in community activities, and her favorite activity is working with children. The addition of Sadie, coupled with Trinity's outstanding programs, provides an extra level of personalized service that is rare to find.
Trinity Memorial Gardens and Friendship Pet Memorial Park have become more than just a resting place for loved ones; they provide a place to gather together to remember friends, family and pets and to celebrate their lives. Through the events and atmosphere created by the Trinity Memorial Gardens family, a very engaged following has emerged. With over 800 active Facebook followers, a newly designed website, ecommerce convenience, excellent service, beautiful grounds and well attended community events; Trinity Memorial Gardens has expanded its services to provide an outlet for families to stay connected with their loved ones.
In April, Gail Manual, accompanied by bereavement therapy dog Sadie, will attend the ICCFA Annual Convention & Exposition in Tampa, Florida where they will receive the 2012 KIP award and Sadie will be a V.I.P guest.
