Aurora is pleased to announce that Lacy Robinson, director of professional development at Aurora, has been appointed to serve on the board of trustees of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice for a term of five years beginning on Oct. 30, 2013.
Robinson is a licensed funeral director/embalmer in the state of Kentucky and was recognized for earning her Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation in June of 2007. She is a graduate of Georgetown College holding a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is also a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service. As director of professional development for Aurora Casket Company, Robinson oversees the creation and development of professional development and training programs for Aurora customers. She regularly presents continuing education programs on local, state and national levels including NFDA, ICCFA and CANA. Robinson is adding to these industry-acclaimed programs by developing e-learning programs, establishing Aurora as a leading provider of training and development for funeral professionals. As an active member of the Bluegrass Toastmasters Group, Robinson has achieved the designation Competent Communicator. She is also a certified funeral celebrant, certified Wilson Learning facilitator and member of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky. She was recently named to the ICCFA Hospice Committee.
