Todd W. Van Beck and Gary O’Sullivan will be honored by the ICCFA Educational Foundation at the association’s annual convention in Las Vegas. The foundation will be honoring the men with its first Lasting Impact Award for their significant, long-term commitment to education.
O’Sullivan operates Gary O’Sullivan Co., which works with clients on management development, service and sales process and corporate culture. He’s also the author of “Sales Never Get Better – People Do,” and is the co-author with David Shipper of “The System,” a complete preneed selling process.
Van Beck is a revered historian and general manager of Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Memphis, Tenn. In 2005, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service.
The two men – both of whom have served as deans at the ICCFA University for years –
will receive their awards at the Education Foundation Lasting Impact Awards at 6 p.m., April 10, at the ICCFA 2014 Convention & Expo at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Tickets cost $100 and can be purchased at the ICCFA registration desk in Las Vegas. The reception will include a hosted bar, hors d’oeurves and raffles.
Jim Price, the foundation’s chairman, noted that the foundation will be providing information about its mission at Booth 1259 at the convention expo, and he urges everyone to attend the reception, noting that all proceeds will go to foundation scholarship programs. “We want to provide opportunities for students who have a passion for funeral service to expand their training and education so they can make a difference in the lives of the families they serve,” Price says. “Those are the future leaders of our profession.”
