BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Funeral Directors Association (LFDA) will host its 2014 Annual Convention June 22-24 at the L’Auberge Casino and Hotel.
The convention includes six hours of continuing education from nationally renowned experts in the field of mortuary science. Speakers include NFDA At-Large Representative, Charles T. “Chuck” Bowman; Vernie Fountain, embalmer, reconstructive specialist and founder of the Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming Skills; and keynote speaker Dr. Cal LeMon, president of Executive Enrichment, Inc.
On June 22, LFDA will hold its welcome reception and silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit the LFDA Gerald M. Robbins, Sr. Scholarship Program, which honors Louisiana residents who have proven academic excellence and have attended or will attend an accredited college of mortuary science.
On June 23, LFDA presents the Service of Remembrance, which honors the LFDA members that have passed away during the last year. The president’s cocktail reception and installation banquet will follow the Service of Remembrance.
Registration for the LFDA Annual Convention is $300 for members, $375 for nonmembers, $195 for students/interns, and $150 for guests or spouses.
