WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Homesteaders Life Co. held its policy owner meeting at the West Des Moines home office on Feb. 20, 2017. During the meeting, Homesteaders Chairman, President and CEO Stephen R. Lang provided an overview of the company’s 2016 accomplishments including the establishment of “Vision 2021,” a five-year focus on growth, financial strength and innovation, according to a company news release.
Executive vp-chief financial officer Steve Pick’s year-end financial report highlighted continued asset and surplus growth, a strong investment portfolio and year-over-year growth in both sales and earnings.
Lang reported that director John Paule’s board term was up for renewal. A retired Des Moines-area executive with a background in insurance operations, information technology and marketing, Paule was unanimously re-elected for another five-year term. He was first appointed to the Homesteaders Board of Directors in 2009 and also serves on the Board of HCI Care Services. Paule is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow.
