John Graf was named chief executive officer of Forethought Financial Group in January 2006. John's 25-year career in financial services has included executive leadership positions with American International Group (AIG), American General, Western National and Conseco. In 2002, John became executive vice president at AIG, having joined the company in 2001 when American General Corp. was acquired by AIG. At the time of the acquisition, he was senior vice chairman, responsible for all group retirement plan, annuity and retail investment businesses. He joined American General upon the acquisition of the Western National Life Insurance Co., where he was president. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois.
